BMW has for many years replaced fluorine spring seals with Teflon seals.
Teflon sealant (PTFE) has a much wider and stiffer sealing lip without the characteristic compression spring.
The wide lip provides a larger contact surface to the shaft, which ensures very good sealing parameters, and also reduces the phenomenon of the formation of a groove in the lip's workplace.
The telephone has a very low coefficient of friction and is resistant to operating temperatures significantly exceeding the engine operating temperatures, the aging process of PTFE is negligible.
The original Teflon sealant ensures many years of trouble-free operation.
