The first protective bar for the R 18 motorbike has been made from 32 mm diameter tube to ensure not only strength but also aesthetics. The closed, one-piece design of the protection bar has been chosen to achieve structural robustness.
The trunking is powder-coated and clear-coated to match the R 18 frame perfectly, and the shape of the trunking is reminiscent of the classic BMW Boxer trunking. The engine cover is solidly supported at six attachment points, allowing the forces generated in a crash or fall to be evenly distributed and absorbed.
The lower wing struts have been positioned so that they do not interfere with the overall contour of the motorbike. Thanks to the multi-point mounting, the point load caused by peak force or torque is significantly reduced. As a result, the protective stays provide protection for the R 18 engine in a way that is not only functional, but also aesthetically pleasing.
The engine rack is made from 2 mm thick tubing. Black colour.
