For optimum cooling, the oil cooler on a BMW motorcycle must have free airflow while riding. However, located directly behind the front wheel, the radiator is exposed to dirt, stones and other foreign objects that can damage the radiator's delicate fins.
Dirt and insects clogging the radiator reduces its cooling capacity and, in the worst case, can lead to leaks. To prevent this from happening, Wunderlich has created an oil protection grille made of durable fine-mesh stainless steel.
This grille protects the radiator from damage and traps heavy dirt, independently inhibiting air flow. Installation of the grille is simple - the radiator grille is removed, and the oil cooler protective grille is fixed in its place, thanks to tabs on the edges of the guard that prevent it from moving. This effectively protects the oil cooler without affecting airflow.
