The functional design and integrated engine protection structure »EXTREME« from Wunderlich protects the engine and manifold. It fits so tightly to the engine that not only is the front of the engine less susceptible to damage, but ground clearance and rake remain almost unchanged.
The shape of the cover prevents it from dangerously digging into the terrain or getting caught by branches, stones or rocks. The holes ensure drainage of water accumulated when wading in water.
Another characteristic feature of Wunderlich products is the care for maximum access to the protected part during maintenance. In this case, among other things, a hole is provided to facilitate draining the engine oil.
The aluminum engine cover is resistant to corrosion, and the forces and vibrations that occur are absorbed by anti-vibration mounting elements.
Wunderlich produces »EXTREME« engine protection using a technologically advanced hydroforming process. In this way, it is possible to realize complex shapes and geometries of elements (especially asymmetric ones), in which we can achieve lower weight by optimizing the material thickness, and at the same time achieve high stiffness and mechanical stability of the element.
The result is a resilient, weight- and shape-optimized engine protection that wraps the unit so tightly and organically that the "form follows function" design principle becomes obvious.
