Engine crash bars designed for BMW R 18 B and R 18 Transcontinental series motorcycles. First Wunderlich crash bars made of 32mm diameter tube. The use of such a pipe is due to the size of the R18 motorcycle.
In addition, the constructors consciously chose a closed, one-piece form of the crash bars, which, apart from the dimensions, contributes to the solidity of the structure. The high-quality, powder-coated and clear-lacquered protective strip - perfectly matched to the frame - integrates unobtrusively into the overall style of the R 18 while adding its own coordinated accent. The shape of the shovel is reminiscent of the protective strip on the classic air-cooled BMW boxer.
Crash bars are mounted through six attachment points, which make the structure very durable.
The multi-point attachment ensures that the forces generated during a collision or rollover do not occur at and act on specific points, but are distributed and absorbed by the protective bar at all 6 attachment points. This greatly reduces the point load caused by force or torque peaks.
