On BMW motorcycles with boxer engines, the cylinders are very exposed. Splashing stones, falling or hitting an object while maneuvering is extremely dangerous.
Additionally, with Shiftcam 1250 engines in which the covers are pressed on, there is a high risk that the cover will move slightly in relation to the cylinder head during the impact, which may damage the very delicate and expensive valve drive.
That is why Wunderlich has designed valve covers to best protect the sensitive parts of the motorcycle from any damage. The covers fit snugly to the covers, but maintain a narrow gap for protection and ventilation.
The cover is made of break-resistant and durable plastic. On the inside of the covers, there are structural segments made of flexible, heat-resistant material. With regard to their Shore hardness *, these segments are dimensioned to absorb shocks. When external forces occur, these segments absorb these forces and distribute them over their entire surface. A stainless steel insert is built in for greater protection.
The covers protect the motorcycle against the worst, i.e. shifting the valve cover, and thus protect against oil loss, which in turn leads to further engine damage. In many cases, the use of covers allows you to continue driving despite a serious fall.
Installation of the covers is easy with the included installation kit.
Valve and cylinder covers are only compatible with standard valve covers.
Material: high-quality, impact-resistant, glass-fiber reinforced plastic with a stainless steel insert.
