Teflon sealant requires compliance with the assembly regime (e.g. dry assembly!, seasoning after assembly!), otherwise it will be irreversibly damaged. We recommend assembly in a professional workshop.
BMW has replaced fluorine spring seals with Teflon seals for many years.
Teflon (PTFE) sealant has a much wider and stiffer sealing lip without the characteristic compression spring.
The wide lip provides a larger contact surface to the shaft, which ensures very good sealing parameters, and also reduces the formation of a groove in the place of the lip's work.
Tefon has a very low coefficient of friction and is resistant to operating temperatures significantly exceeding the operating temperatures of the engine, the aging process of PTFE is negligible.
The original Teflon sealant ensures many years of trouble-free operation.
